Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Raise vehicle.

Remove right front wheel.

Remove right front fender liner.

Disconnect electrical connector (3).

Remove electrical connector (3) from the retaining clip (4).

 To do this, activate the catch hook and push the electrical connector (3) onto the retaining clip (4) (arrow A).

 Installation: Check retaining clip (4) for damage.

If damage exists,



Replace retaining clip (4).

Remove electrical wiring harness (5) from retaining clamps (6).

Remove rear engine compartment lining.

Model 470 except code Y1J (underbody protection)

 Installation: Install rear engine compartment lining only after the leak test.

7.2

Remove center underbody protection.

Model 470 with code Y1J (underbody protection)

 Installation: Install center underbody protection only after the leak test.

Release protective cover (7) in the working area.

 To do this, push protective cover (7) onto the metering valve (1) until the connector coupling of the injection line (2) is accessible.

Remove injection line (2) from the metering valve (1).

 To do so, operate locks. Capture escaping AdBlue® and seal connections.

 Installation: Clean connection of injection line (2) with lint-free rag.

Remove metering valve (1) from the exhaust gas aftertreatment unit.

 To do this remove clamp (8).

 Installation: Replace clamp (8).

Clamp off coolant hoses (9) in areas (arrows B, C).

Remove metering valve (1).

 Removal: Mark assignment of coolant hoses (9) to metering valve (1).

 To do this, remove coolant hoses (9) from the metering valve (1) and capture escaping coolant.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Collecting pan

 Installation: Observe markings applied to the coolant hoses (9). Check clamps for damage.

If damage exists,



replace the affected clamp.

Seal opening at exhaust gas aftertreatment unit.

If additional work will be carried out or metering valve (1) is not immediately reinstalled.

Read out and delete fault memory.

If a new metering valve (1) is installed.



Perform engine test run and check metering valve (1) for leak tightness.
