Connect vehicle diagnosis system and move parking brake into assembly position.

 Installation: Remove diagnostic system again.

Remove respective rear wheel.

Remove torsion bar linkage of rear axle level sensor from semi-trailing arm (1).

If the left semi-trailing arm (1) is removed.

 To do so, unclip torsion bar linkage.

 Installation: The torsion bar linkage must audibly engage on ball head on semi-trailing arm (1).

Remove torsion bar linkage of air suspension level sensor from respective semi-trailing arm (1).

Unhook brake hose (2) from semi-trailing arm (1).

Detach stabilizer bar torsion bar linkage from semi-trailing arm (1).

Install a shackle (4) with screw, as shown.

Secure wheel carrier, as shown, using tensioning straps (5, 6) to prevent it from falling down.

Support semi-trailing arm (1).

Secure vehicle at rear on opposite side of vehicle on vehicle lift.

Remove rear shock absorber from semi-trailing arm (1).

 Do not completely remove the rear shock absorber.

Remove bolts_(7).

 For this, counterhold nuts (8).

 Installation: Install new screws (7) and nuts (8).

 Screw/nut, wheel carrier to semi-trailing arm

Remove cam bolt (9) and collar bolt (10).

 Installation: Replace cam bolt (9), collar bolt (10) and nuts, and tighten lightly by hand. The cam bolt (9) and collar bolt (10) are only tightened to torque and tightening angle during wheel alignment measurement.

Remove semi-trailing arm (1).



Check

Check elastomer bearings of semi-trailing arm (1) for wear and damage.

If wear or damage is present



install new semi-trailing arm (1).

Check safety clip on rear brake cable for wear and damage.

Replace safety clip on rear brake cable.

Install in the reverse order.

Check for correct function of parking brake.
