Shift transmission (1) to neutral position, release parking brake and secure vehicle to prevent it from rolling away.

Remove propeller shaft (4) from output flange (6).

Lower the transmission(1) carefully until the output flange(6) is accessible.


Do not crush any components or place under tension. The engine must not make contact with the front axle carrier or the firewall.
Otherwise damage will occur.

Remove output flange(6).

Pry radial shaft sealing ring (7) out of transmission (1).


Do not damage transmission (1).
Otherwise leakage may occur.

Check

Check sealing surfaces of output flange(6) for galling and corrosion.

If galling, corrosion or damage is present,



Replace output flange(6).



Install

Coat new radial shaft sealing ring (7) with transmission oil.



Press new radial shaft sealing ring (7) using drift (8) far enough into transmission (1) so that drift (8) makes contact with transmission housing.

Check/correct transmission oil level.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
