Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).


Do not damage sealing surface of transmission.
Leaks can occur otherwise.

Do not damage shims while doing so.
Otherwise, the shims must be replaced.

Install new bearings of shift finger (8).

Install bearing race (5) of long countershaft.

 To do so, heat up the transmission housing. Use tool "S" from  tool kit 700 589 02 63 00 and tool "Q" from  tool kit 700 589 07 63 00.

Install shims for bearing race (4).

If shims are to be replaced,



use new shims with the same dimension as previously installed shims.

Install bearing race (4) of short countershaft.



Use tool "K" from  tool kit 700 589 06 63 00 and tool "Q" from  tool kit 700 589 07 63 00.

If shims are to be replaced,
