| Remove/install | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
| Notes on coolant | ||
1 | Remove battery tray | ||
2 | Remove front CBS | ||
3 | Turn cooling system cap (1) at the radiator (8) half a revolution in counterclockwise direction, release pressure relief, then unbolt cooling system cap (1).
4 | Separate coolant fan motor connector (M4/2x1) | Do not damage catch hook, otherwise the coolant fan motor connector (M4/2x1) can no longer be locked.
5 | Slacken the clips of the electrical line (2) from expansion reservoir (5) and fan shroud (6)
6 | Unclip bracket (3) | ||
7 | Detach coolant hose (4) at expansion reservoir (5)
8 | Unscrew bolts (6) of the expansion reservoir (5) at the fan shroud (6)
9 | Remove bolts (7) | ||
10 | Carefully press the radiator (8) into the engine compartment
11 | Slacken the expansion reservoir (5) out of the guide (arrow) of the fan shroud (6) and remove from the top
12.1 | Empty the expansion reservoir (5) | Only when replacing the expansion reservoir (5).
13 | Install in the reverse order
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
14 | Perform engine test run until the coolant fan motor switches on and check the coolant system for leaks
15 | Check coolant level in radiator (8) and in expansion reservoir (5) , correct if necessary
| Engine cooling system - check fluid level, adjust to correct level. Inspect anticorrosion/antifreeze protection, adjust to correct concentration |
