Remove/install

Drain off coolant.

Remove the engine mount with integrated engine carrier, front right.

Remove left engine mount.

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler.

Remove strut (5).

Release and disconnect electrical connector (6).

Remove cooler bypass valve(Y27/21).

 Do not remove cooler bypass valve (Y27/21) completely.

Remove screws (7).

Remove screw (9) and remove holder (8).

Remove electrical wiring harness (10) from the carrier plate (12).

Remove hose clamps (13) and coolant lines (14).

Remove screws (11).

 The number of screws (11) varies depending on the engine.

Remove carrier plate (12).

Loosen screws (3) for belt pulley (2).

 Bolt, belt pulley to coolant pump

Remove poly-V-belt.

Unscrew screws (3) for belt pulley (2).

Remove belt pulley (2).

 Push engine and transmission somewhat to the side.

Remove screws (4).

 Bolt, coolant pump to crankcase

Remove coolant pump (1).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.



Clean

Clean sealing surface on crankcase.

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Clean coolant pump (1) sealing surface..

If the coolant pump (1) is reused.

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check cooling circuit for leak tightness.
