Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove the fender liner in the right fender.

Move tensioning device (2) in direction of arrow and lock with suitable assembly pin.

Move tensioning device (2) in opposite direction to arrow and lock with suitable assembly pin.

Remove poly-V-belt (1).



Check

Check poly-V-belt (1) for damage and wear.



If damage and wear are present,



Replace poly-V-belt (1).

Check tensioning device (2) for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,



Replace clamping device(2).

Check guide pulley for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,

Replace guide pulley.

Check belt pulley of the engine for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,

Replace belt pulley.

Check belt pulley of the alternator (G2) for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,

replace belt pulley of the alternator (G2).

Check belt pulley of refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (9/10) for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,



Replace refrigerant compressor with magnetic clutch (9/10).

Install

Install poly-V-belt (1).


Do not kink poly-V belt (1); do not use belt wax or any similar products.
Malfunctions and noises can arise otherwise.

 Observe routing diagram of poly-V belt (1).

Remove assembly pin and tension poly-V-belt (1) with tensioning device (2).



Install fender liner in right fender.

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
