Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Drain engine oil out of the oil pan and catch it



Detach charge air hose on throttle valve actuator

Detach intake air hose on air filter housing

Detach fan cowl on cooler

Attach engine hoist



Detach both engine mount at body

Lift engine

Disconnect electrical connection (2) at engine oil level sensor (B40/5)

Remove screw/bolt (1)

 Bolt, oil sensor to oil pan

Pull engine oil level sensor (B40/5) out of the oil pan

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run and check engine for leaktightness around the engine oil level sensor (B40/5)
