 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove front bumper

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler from charge air cooler

Remove charge air hose upstream of charge air cooler

Unhook cable (2) for hood latch and place to one side

Take off front end crossmember (3) above at FM crossmember

 For this purpose, remove bolts (4).

Remove crossmember under the bumper together with front end crossmember (3)

Unlock upper locks of radiator package (5)

Disconnect electrical connector (6)

Remove radiator package (5)


Do not put lines and hose under tension.
Damage may occur otherwise.

Remove intake port shutoff together with attached throttle valve actuator

 The throttle valve actuator is not disassambled from the intake port shutoff.

Remove high pressure control exhaust gas recirculation valve

Clamp off coolant hose (7)

 Clamp

Remove coolant hose (7) from charge air distributor (1)

 Collect coolant which flows out.

Remove line (8) on charge air distributor (1)

Remove bolt (9)

Unscrew nut (10)

Remove screw/bolt (12)

Swivel holder (11) out of working area

Remove electrical wiring harness (14)

 Remove screw/bolt (15) to do this.

Remove charge-air distributor (1)

 To do this, unscrew nuts (16).

 Installation: Replace seal.

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
