Remove/install

Remove pressure line from high-pressure pump (1) to fuel distributor

Remove charge air pipe and swivel out of the working area

 The charge air pipe is not removed completely.

Remove vacuum pump

Remove brake fluid expansion reservoir and swivel out of working area

 The brake fluid expansion reservoir is not completely removed. Do not extract brake fluid.

Remove bracket for fuel filter and swivel out of the working area



 Do not disconnect fuel lines.

Disconnect electrical connection (2)

Remove fuel lines (3)

 Close off connections on the high-pressure pump (1) and fuel lines (3). Grommets are available as an replacement part of the fuel injection system; see EPC Group 07.

Remove high-pressure pump (1)


To do this pry out high-pressure pump (1) carefully from the cylinder head using a suitable tool.
This prevents damage occurring.

 Installation: Replace seal. When inserting the high-pressure pump (1) note the position of the gear.

Modify the gear of the high-pressure pump (1)

Only when replacing high-pressure pump (1).
