Warning

Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.

No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components.

AS00.00-Z-0009-01A

Caution

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove

1

Remove cylinder head cover.

AR01.20-D-5014TSC

2

Rotate the engine at crankshaft center bolt in direction of engine rotation with the aid of a telescope mirror (5) to ignition TDC on cylinder 1.

The TDC marking (05) on the belt pulley must align with the positioning edge on the timing case cover (06).

5

Install the brackets (02a, 02e).

Before assembly of the bracket (02a, 02e), the camshafts (4) must be in the TDC position so that the brackets (02a, 02e) can be put in place and installed without further pressure.
This prevents damage occurring.

The camshafts (4) may exclusively be turned using the socket or with the screw/bolt (N 000000 005561) in combination with the disk ( 604 990 00 40).
This prevents damage to the camshafts (4).
