As a safe distance from the retarder, a minimum distance of 100 cm is to be maintained between the retarder and the body parts of the affected person for people with implants.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Start the engine and fill the compressed-air system at idle speed.

 Until a reservoir pressure > 9 bar is reached in pressure circuits 1 and 2.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Switch off engine.

Drain coolant at drain screws (1, 2) on retarder.

Remove chips stuck to drain plugs (1).
The cooling system can get damaged otherwise.

Remove locking pressure line (3).

Model with production period up to 31.07.15

Remove screws/bolts (4).

 Installation:
Screw in bolts (4) uniformly.
Otherwise the regulating valve (5) in the valve block may tilt over and damage the valve block.
