Remove

Remove transmission (1).

Remove bolts (2) .


Unscrew the bolts (2) in stages in a crosswise sequence.
The clutch pressure plate (3) can otherwise be damaged due to tilting or distortion.

Remove clutch pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4) from flywheel (7).



Check

Check clutch pressure plate (3) and clutch plate (4) for damage and wear.

Reset adjusting ring (5).

Only if the old clutch pressure plate (3) is to be reused with a new clutch plate (4).

Check central clutch release bearing (6) for wear and leak tightness.

Notes on working on central clutch release bearing of transmission

If damage or wear is present:



Replace central clutch release bearing (6).

Check flywheel (7) and needle bearing (8) for wear.

If wear is present:



Replace flywheel (7) with needle bearing (8).

Check radial shaft sealing ring (9) and sealing cover (10) for leak tightness.

If damage is present.



Replace radial shaft sealing ring (9) or sealing cover (10).

Install

Remove friction surface (7a) at flywheel (7) using coarse abrasive paper.

Remove friction surface (3a) on clutch pressure plate (3) using coarse abrasive paper.

Place clutch pressure plate (3) with clutch plate (4) on flywheel (7) and center using centering pin (012).


Its correct direction of installation is specified on the clutch plate (4).
Incorrect installation leads to damage to the clutch pressure plate (3), clutch plate (4) and transmission (1).

Fix clutch pressure plate (3) in place on flywheel (7) using three screws (2).

 In the process only screw in the bolts (2) approx. one revolution.

Position remaining screws (2) and tighten all screws (2).


Tighten the bolts (2) in stages in a crosswise sequence.
The clutch pressure plate (3) can otherwise be damaged due to tilting or distortion.

Remove centering pin (012).

Install the transmission (1).
