Remove/install

 Danger !

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Loosen cable duct (12) for engine wiring harness (13)



Remove vacuum reservoir

Open clamp and remove coolant hose (5) from the connection fitting (1)

 Installation: Check clamp and coolant hose (5) for signs of damage, replace if necessary. Position clamp between the markings on the coolant hose (5).

Unclip retaining clamp (14) on bracket (19) and push engine wiring harness (13) to the side

Open clamps (17), remove fuel filter (15) upwards from the connection fitting (1) and place to one side

 Do not detach fuel hoses from fuel filter (15).

Undo bolts (11) and remove bracket (10)

 Bolt, bracket to cylinder head

Open clamps and remove coolant hoses (4, 7, 8) from connection fitting (1)

 Installation: Check clamps and coolant hoses (4, 7, 8) for signs of damage, replace if necessary.
Position clamps between markings on coolant hoses (4, 7, 8).

Open clamp (20) and push as far as possible towards cable duct (12) until the connection fitting (1) can be removed

 Installation: Turn clamp (20) when installing so that the bracket (10) can then be installed afterwards.
Position clamp (20) between markings on the coolant hose (9).

Remove bolts (3) and lay holder (18) to the side with fuel hose (16)

Unscrew bolts (2.1) and bolt (2.2)

 Installation:
Do not use any lubricant and no liquid sealant.
Otherwise the strength of the threaded connections cannot be assured.

 Installation: Position bolt (2.1) first then bolt (2.2), and then tighten to torque value in same sequence. Then tighten bolts (3).

Lift connection fitting (1) and pull out of the coolant hose (9)

 Installation: Check clamp (20) and coolant hose (9) for signs of damage; replace if necessary.
Replace seal (6) on connection fitting (1)

 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Test run engine and check engine in area of connection fitting (1) for leakage

Install in the reverse order
