Removing and installing engine coolant pump

Removing, installing

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding from hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open the cooling system unless the coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and allow the pressure to release. Do not pour coolant into containers for drinks.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothes, and eye protection.

Drain coolant



Remove air cleaner housing

Slacken bolts (1) of belt pulley (2) at coolant pump (4)



Remove poly V-belt



Remove belt pulley (2) of coolant pump (4)

Detach shock absorber (7) of tensioning device at cylinder head

 Shock absorber (7) can remain installed at tensioning lever (8).



Remove coolant pump (4)

 Slacken bolts (3) evenly.

 Installation: clean sealing surfaces, replace gasket (6).

Insert bolt before installing coolant pump (arrows).

Pay attention to dowel sleeves (5), tighten bolts (3) evenly.

 Push engine away to the side in order to remove coolant pump (4).



Install in the reverse order
