This service information and the new filling unit are only relevant for dealers who already own or have ordered a coolant circuit flushing unit 963 589 05 91 00. Dealers without the coolant circuit flushing unit 963 589 05 91 00 do not require the new filling unit and should not order it.

To exactly differentiate between the deficiency phases 2 and 3/4, a new method has been developed. If, when assessing the deficiency phases (see AH20.00-N-0002-01H Notes on assessment of deficiency phases during coolant sludging), deficiency phase 2 is determined, the flow volume of the heater core must be checked with the new filling unit in future. The limitation of the deficiency phases 2 and 3/4, with the aid of the color of the coolant sample, is not reliable in all cases. Through the new method, some vehicles, for which the deficiency phase 2 was determined, move to deficiency phase 3/4. For these vehicles, a repeated complaint is prevented by treatment according to deficiency phase 3/4.

The work procedure for checking the flow volume of the heater core must be taken from the up-to-date work instructions.

The test is invoiced with the operation item V83-1009-0.

The relevant documents in workshop information system will be updated shortly.
