Terminate heater operation

Heater operation for the heated seats can be manually terminated by pressing the switch.

Automatic switching off of the heated seats

If one of the following criteria occurs, the heated seats are switched off. The criteria are listed in the order of decreasing priority; i.e. if the heated seats are switched off due to a criterion with a low priority and then another switch-off criterion with a higher priority occurs, this is treated as described for the criterion with the higher priority.

Switching off as under terminal 15R "OFF"

After switch off by terminal 15R the heated seats also switch off (loads and function indicator). However, the timer control continues to run for t = 5 min, as long as terminal 15c is switched on. If now terminal 15R or terminal 15 is switched on again, then the heated seats are also switched on again in accordance with the timer control setting.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Switching off in the event of undervoltage

If the threshold for comfort undervoltage is dropped below (currently 11 V for more than 1 s) or the undervoltage ( approx. 9 V) then the heated seats (load only) are switched off. The CAN message for the function indicator also sets the signal.

The timer control continues to run if the heated seats are switched off due to undervoltage. Accordingly the bits for the function indicator are also set.

Switching off on-board electrical system emergency operation

The heated seats (load only) are switched off for the on-board electrical system emergency operation. The timer control continues to run if the heated seats are switched off due to on-board electrical system emergency operation. Accordingly the bits for the function indicator are also set.

Switching off in the event of overvoltage

When the overvoltage threshold (approx. 15V) is exceeded, the heated seats (load only) are switched off. The timer control continues to run if the heated seats are switched off due to overvoltage. Accordingly the bits for the function indicator are also set.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Switching off during starting procedure

During the starting procedure the heated seats (load only) are switched off.

The timer control continues to run if the heated seats are switched off during the starting procedure. Accordingly the bits for the function indicator are also set.

Switching off at seat adjustment

When seat motors are being actuated the heated seats (load only) are switched off.

The timer control continues to run if the heated seats are switched off.

Accordingly the bits for the function indicator are also set.

Time control

The seat control module regulates the timer control for the heated seats. After switching on stage 3, it remains switched on for t = 5 min. After this it switches automatically to stage 2, which remains switched on for t = 10 min. After stage 2 an automatic switchover is made to stage 1, which remains in operation for t = 20 min. Then the heated seats switch off. The times for the three heating stages can be parameterized by the diagnosis in the seat control module. If the heated seats are switched on, the heated seats are not switched off until the seat ventilation is switched off.
