A9 Refrigerant compressor

The refrigerant compressor (A9) that is driven by the engine compresses the gaseous refrigerant that is drawn in by the low pressure (D), causing it to heat up. Next, the refrigerant vapor is forwarded through the high pressure (gaseous) (A) into the condenser (32), where compression heat is extracted from the refrigerant via the surface of the condenser (32), with the effect that the refrigerant cools down As it is cooling down, the refrigerant liquefies (condenses). Then the liquid refrigerant is led to the dryer cartridge (31) via the high pressure (liquid) (B). Any contamination or water content in the liquid refrigerant is removed in the dryer cartridge (31). After drying in the drier cartridge (31), the liquid refrigerant is forwarded through the high pressure (liquid) (B) to the expansion valve (25). The expansion valve (25) regulates the inflow of refrigerant to the front evaporator (17) in relation to the low pressure (gaseous) (D) and the temperature at the output of the front evaporator (17). The refrigerant, which is part liquid, part gaseous, is led into the front evaporator (17) from the expansion valve (25) via the low pressure (liquid) (C).

The refrigerant evaporates in the front evaporator (17). Due to the evaporation process, heat and air humidity are withdrawn from the fresh or recirculated air blowing by the outside of the tubular and honeycomb-like system of the front evaporator (17), causing the air to cool down and dry out. The air humidity carried along is converted to condensed water, which is routed to the outside. The refrigerant compressor (A9) draws in the refrigerant, which has become gaseous again because of heat absorption, via the low pressure (gaseous) (D) and compresses it again.
