Function
The operating condition "soft warning" (reminder, display color: yellow) is marked by a minimum tire pressure, at which driving safety continues to be guaranteed. A warning on the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) indicates to the driver that the tire pressure should be corrected as soon as possible. A "soft warning" is triggered if the tire inflation pressure as rated by temperature is > 0.2 bar and < 0.4 bar less than the stored specified pressure.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This warning appears for the first time when circuit 15 is switched on and is displayed for approx. 30 seconds. The driver is therefore requested to check the tire inflation pressures and correct them if necessary and then reactivate the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system.
If the tire inflation pressure rated by temperature is > 0.4 bar below the stored specified pressure, a "hard warning" appears (display color: red).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The "hard warning" is only displayed when circuit 15 is switched on. A "soft warning" is displayed the next time circuit 15 is switched on. If the system is not reactivated, the "soft warning" is repeated for approx. 30 seconds each time the engine is started and then goes out again.
The driver is advised to stop and check the condition of the tires immediately. The driver is responsible for deciding whether to continue driving at low speed to
the next specialist workshop or whether a repair (fitting the spare wheel or using TIREFIT) is necessary on site.
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster is switched on at the same time as the "hard warning" is displayed. It only goes out after the tire pressure monitor system is reactivated.
