Risk of poisoning and caustic burning from battery acid ingestion. | To set fire, sparking, electric arc welding and smoking is forbidden. Use acid protective gloves, clothes and goggles. To store battery acid, utilize only appropriate and duly identified containers.
| Detach the battery negative lead
Danger! | Risk of injury due to becoming trapped and crushed while cab is being tilted. | During cab tilting and returning, do not get in the tilting area and take preventive measures to stop non-authorized people from getting in. Always tilt the cab to its final position and lock it with the safety device.
| Tilt the cab forward | ||
| Remove the bolt (1) fastening the telescopic rod on the gearbox control lever | Installing: If necessary, adjust the telescopic support assembly.
| Slacken the clamp (3) | ||
| Remove the steering box bellows (4) and displace it up
| Remove the bolt (5) of the universal joint articulation (6) | Installing: Tighten the universal joint articulation bolt to the specified tightening torque.
| |||
| Remove the universal joint articulation (6) from the steering box | Installing: At assembly, the universal joint articulation slot must coincide with the marking on the steering shaft's end-less screw.
| Detach the water hose (10) from the pump to the windshield wiper
| Separate the electric wiring harness splicing connector of the water pump for the windshield wipers.
| Remove the pipes (8) from the pneumatic coupling (9) on the cab floorboard
| Return the cab to vehicle operating position | Pay attention in order not to trap and not crush the wires and pipes, that have been detached, between the cab and the chassis.
| Remove the front end cover
| Remove the bumper | ||
| Remove the right and left side turn indicator lamps.
| Remove from the cab front end cover, the brackets of the pipes (18) and the silencer bracket (21)
| Separate the splicing connection of the tachograph (20) electric wire and thread the wire top end with the rubber protector inside the cab | Installing: Seal again the splice connection of the tachograph electric wire. The sealing must take place only at authorized workshops.
| Separate the brake valve connections (23)
| Inside the cab, remove the top left side lining arranged in the foot well, at driver side
| Cut the clamps arranged around the tachograph's cable, behind the bracket (17)
| Remove the support (17) and place it carefully on the bumper bracket with the wires connected.
| Lift off the cover (31) of the electric connectors board (32)
| Disconnect the connectors board (32) the electric wire connections destined to the chassis | Installing: Observe the lines and the respective markings on the connectors columns.
| Loosen the screwed connections of the ground and positive leads on the connectors board (32)
| Remove the cable guide tubes (29) from the brackets on the fender | Installing: Follow the connectors marking order.
Danger! | Risk of injury on skin and eyes from burns caused by steam or overheated coolant. Risk of poisoning from coolant ingestion. | Open the cooling system only when the temperature is below 90 °C. Open the cap slowly and let the excess pressure out. Coolant must not be kept in beverage containers. Utilize appropriate protection gloves, clothes and goggles.
| Draining coolant | Open the drain bolt on the radiator bottom part. Catch the coolant in a clean container.
| Detach the flexible coolant pipes (24) of the pipes connected to the space heating radiator, on the connections located on the fender's bottom corner
| Drain the air conditioning system refrigerant agent | Installing: Fill the air conditioning system.
The draining and filling of the air conditioning system must be carried out only by specialized personnel.
| Remove the support (27) of the refrigerant agent pipe (28), located behind the bumper step
| Loosen the refrigerant agent pipes (25) and (28) an immediately plug the ends of both pipes | If the pipes are not hermetically closed the refrigerant agent condenser will get saturated with air humidity and will not operate.
| Pull the ends of the refrigerant agent pipes (25) and (28) up and fasten them to the cab with a plastic tier
| Fold back the floorboard mats on both sides and remove the plugs (11) of the floorboard plate openings
| Unscrew the floorboard hex head bolts (12) on both sides of cab | Installing: Tighten the bolts to the specified tightening torque.
| |||
| Adjust the length of the lifting device arms according to the cab roof height
| Insert the crane hook or the lifting pulley in the lifting device | Slightly lift the lifting device with the crane and remove the roller feet.
| Open the doors | ||
| Unlatch the cab on its rear suspension actuating the tilting pump several strokes
| Apply the elevation device in the door's void | Apply the elevation device approximately at the height of the cab's determined center of gravity.
| Lift the cab with the lifting device until the front telescopic feet (16) of the cab become, as far as possible, free of load
| Unscrew the hex nuts (14) of the telescopic feet top fastening | Installing: Tighten the nuts (14) to the specified tightening torque.
| |||
| Compress the telescopic feet (16) until the bolts (15) can be removed
| Collapse the telescopic feet (16) forward
| Unscrew the bolts (15a) and remove the cab suspensions (13) | Installing: Tighten the bolts to the specified tightening torque.
| |||
Danger! | Life at risk by the inappropriate lifting of the vehicle. Risk of injury by trapping and crushing body limbs when lowering the vehicle. Risk of trapping and crushing when returning the cab. | Utilize only appropriate lifting equipment. Always check the supports utilized for safety. Never circulate or remain under the suspended cab.
| Lifting the cab | When lifting the cab, take special care so the cab or its components do not get entangled on the chassis.
Installing: Align the cab over the side rails and lower it so the bolts (12) and (15a) can be installed and tightened. Next, completely lower the cab.
| Remove the cab and support it on appropriate stands or on a straightening workbench appropriate for this purpose
