Bleeding | |||
1 | Suspend the vehicle and support it on safety stands or turning plates | For articulated bus, do not exceed the maximum folding angle (vertical plane) permitted in straight line of 10°.
2 | Remove the reservoir cap (3) | Protect the reservoir against penetration of dirt.
3 | Carry out the front axle steering bleeding
4.1 | Check the alignment of the hydraulic actuation cylinder of the auxiliary steered axle
4.2 | Align the hydraulic cylinder mechanically | After the mechanical alignment calibrate the hydraulic cylinder through the STAR DIAGNOSIS.
| Steered axle (ZL) diagnostic, operational control through activations | ||
5 | Check the alignment of the auxiliary steered axle
6 | Check the wheel stop (4) of the auxiliary steered axle | The wheel stop of the auxiliary steered axle (4) must have the distance of 33 mm of "X" length, if necessary, adjust the wheel stop slackening the jam-nut (5). After adjustment, re-tighten the jam-nut to the specified torque.
| |||
7 | Carry out the auxiliary steered axle bleeding | Only after carrying out the bleeding of the front axle steering.
Danger! | Risk of accident by unintentional rolling with the engine running. Risk of injuries by crushing and burns caused by contact during the startup procedure or with the engine running | Secure the vehicle against unintentional rolling. Utilize closed and tight fitting work clothes. Do not touch heated or moving parts.
8 | Run the engine in idle speed | For vehicles with auxiliary steered axle let the engine running for 10 min.
9 | With the help of the STAR DIAGNOSIS, steer the auxiliary steered axle to both sides until reaching the mechanical stop | Steer the axle actuating the proportional valve to one side up to the mechanical stop, center the axle, steer to the other side up to the stop and return to the center. Carry out this procedure (5 times) until no more air bubbles are shown in the reservoir. To center the axle actuate the axle alignment switch.
| Additional steered axle (ZL) diagnostic, operational control through activations | ||
10 | Check the hydraulic fluid level (3, 4) in the reservoir, if necessary replenish | The hydraulic fluid level must not exceed the maximum level indication (max). Correct hydraulic fluid level: a With the engine idling the hydraulic fluid level must be between the (min) and (max) marking; b With the engine stopped the hydraulic fluid level can be approximately 1 cm above the (max) marking.
11 | Install the reservoir cap (3)
12 | Check the hydraulic system for tightness | Visual inspection.
13 | Lower the vehicle. |
