| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove the drain plug (1) to drain the oil | ||
2 | Loosen the wheel nuts (2) | By using 32 mm wheel spanner. | |
3 | Raise the jack supporting the axle to lift the tire off the ground | ||
4 | Support the vehicle chassis frame near rear under protection devices using tripod stand (3) | ||
5 | Remove the both wheels (4) on the rear forward axles | By using tyre removal stand. | |
Installation: By using tyre removal trolley. | |||
6 | Remove the mud Guard (5) | By using 21 mm and 24 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
7 | Remove the air line (6) from the differential unit | ||
8 | Pull out the breather hose (7) and disconnect the harness socket (8) from differential lock unit | Release air from auxillary air tank before starting any service procedure | |
9 | Remove the air line (9) from the interlock unit | ||
10 | Disconnect the harness socket (10) from inter lock unit | ||
11 | Remove the propeller shaft (11) between the rear forward axles drive head flange and transmission | By using 18 mm ring spanner. | |
Installation: By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Install the propeller shaft mounting bolts between the rear forward axles drive head flange and transmission | |||
12 | Remove intermediated shaft (12) from the rear forward axle and rear rearward axle | By using18 mm socket and wrench. | |
Installation: By using 18 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Install intermediated shaft from the rear forward axle and rear rearward axle | |||
13 | Remove the spring brake actuator parking (13) and service brake compressed air line (14) | By using 24 mm open-end wrench. | |
14 | Remove shock absorber (15) both side mounting bolt from chassis and link bracket | By using 21 mm socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 21 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
15 | Remove the torque rod (16) from trunnion bracket | By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Install the torque rod to the trunnion bracket | |||
16 | Lift the axle casing using jib crane (17) to relieve the spring support bracket | ||
17 | Remove the V-rod (18) from the housing | By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 36 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Install the V-rod to the axle housing | |||
18 | Remove the spring seat (19) and link bracket (20) mounting bolts from the axle housing | By by using 30 mm hexagonal socket and ratchet. | |
Installation: By using 30 mm hexagonal socket and torque wrench. | |||
Install Spring seat and link bracket to the axle housing | |||
19 | Lower the axle housing (21) and support on the conventional crawler cum trolley jack (22) | ||
20 | Pull out the rear axle housing from the vehicle | By using specified equipment. | |
21 | Install in the reverse order |
