Remove

Danger

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1

Place the vehicle on an appropriate lift

2

Disconnect the negative battery cable or turn off the main switch

For vehicles equipped with electronic engines, always observe the recommendations regarding the care with the vehicle electronics.

3

Remove the wheels

AR40.10-B-1101A

Where a suitable lift is used, remove the wheels is not necessary.

4

Remove the dampers

.

AR32.25-B-0105G

Excessive travel of the shock absorbers
may cause several damage to them.

For additional safety when moving the axle, the dampers can be removed or released from their lower anchors
This procedure could make easier moving the front axle with the support of the lift.

5

Completely the pneumatic bellows and manually and carefully disconnect the front pneumatic suspension bellows (1) of top sealing edge (5) of the bellows lower sealing edge (8)

Do not use metal tools or levers, since it will damage the metal sealing parts, as well as the bellows top (5) and bottom (8) sealing edges, causing subsequent leakage.
As a last resort, use a wooden lever with rounded tips.
As a last resort, use a wooden lever with rounded tips.

If necessary, move the axle with the lift.

6

Remove the bellows by pulling it out together with the support plate and bellows seal (10) at the bottom

7

Disengage the front pneumatic bellows (1) from the bellows sealing and fitting mold (10)

8

To remove the lower cylindrical bracket (11), remove from inside the flanged screw fastening the lower cylindrical bracket (13) screwed to the turret type bracket on the front axle (12) secured to the vehicle front axle (15)

If necessary, the turret type bracket (12) can be removed.
To do so, mark the original position, remove the flanged nuts and bolts fastening the bracket to the axle (16) and remove it.

9

To remove the stop pressed onto the bellows sealing (10) and fitting mold (7), secure the bellows sealing and fitting mold (10) on a vise (with protected jaws) and use an appropriate lever without damaging the sealing edges

For stops with a central hole, observe the safety measures and apply compressed air until it becomes loose

Releasing the stop by using compressed requires additional safety measures, since the stop may be thrown at a certain distance, causing injury to the operator.

If the stop is damaged, it may be cut with a chisel.

10

If necessary, the turret type bracket (12) fastened to the front axle can be removed. To do so, mark the original position, remove the flanged nuts and bolts (16) fastening the bracket to the axle and remove it

.

AR32.25-B-0105G

For all vehicles, before removing the bracket attached to the front axle, it is necessary to remove the dampers and depressurize the bellows.

Clean

11

Check upper ring sealing edges on the bracket (4) and bellows sealing and fitting mold (10) at the bottom

If necessary, replace the support plate or the top bracket.

12

Check the status of the vehicle framework (2) and the bellows lower sealing edge (8)

The bellows should be dry cleaned without using any cleaning fluid or solvent.

Clean the sealing areas on the metal contact parts, of support and on the bellows sealing edges.

Check

13

Check upper ring sealing edges on the bracket (4) and bellows sealing and fitting mold (10) at the bottom.

If necessary, replace the support plate or the top bracket.

Check the condition of the front pneumatic suspension bellows (1) and the stops pressed on the fitting mold (7)
Replace pneumatic bellows and stops if they show signs of leaks, dryness, cuts or cracks, deformed internal stops or sealing parts corroded or deformed by prolonged use.

Install

14

If the turret type bracket supporting (12) the bellows has been removed, install it on the front axle (15). Attend the correct position and install the flanged screws and nuts fastening the bracket on the axle (16)

Evenly tighten the flanged nuts and screws fastening the bracket to the axle (16) in two stages.
Apply the final torque alternately (crosswise).

Flange bolts and nuts on tower type support, supporting the front axle bellows and shock absorber supports

15

Install the lower cylindrical bracket (11) on the turret type bracket secured to the front axle (12) and tighten the flanged screw securing the lower cylindrical bracket (13)

Tighten the flanged screw fastening the lower cylindrical bracket (13) from the inside.

Bottom fixation of the cylindrical support of the front bellow

16

Press the new stop pressed into the fitting mold (7) at the sealing edge of the bellows fitting mold (9)

Lubricate the stop using the specified sliding fluid. After assembly, clean any lubricant residues from around the components.

Lubricant

*BR00.45-Z-1032-06A

17

Slightly lubricate all mechanical sealing parts the bellows, using the specified sliding fluid

Lubricant

*BR00.45-Z-1032-06A

18

Manually fit the front pneumatic suspension bellows (1) on the bellows sealing and fitting mold (10), bending it with the palms of your hands

The bellows should at all times be assembled manually, without using mechanical tools.

19

Install the bellows sealing and fitting mold (10) with the bellows mounted on the lower cylindrical bracket (11), and manually fit the bellows on the upper bracket (3) and the upper ring sealing edge on the bracket (4)

The full seating on the top bracket occurs when the bellows are pressurized.

20

Install the dampers if they have been removed, or fasten them to the parts from where they have been released (either top or bottom)

AR40.10-B-1101A

Observe the required subsequent retightening.

22

Carefully lower the vehicle from the lift

23

Connect the negative battery cable or turn the main switch on

For vehicles equipped with electronic engines, always observe the recommendations regarding the care with the vehicle electronics.

24

Run the engine until it achieves the normal operating pressure, and pressurize the pneumatic bellows

25

Check potential pressure leaks in the system, using neutral glycerin soap foam or a suitable product for this purpose

Regular soap foam should not be used, since it contains caustic soda, which corrodes the materials.
because it contains caustic soda that corrodes the materials.

26

Run a test drive

Check the air suspension behavior.
