Install radial shaft sealing ring at output end (12)

Secure assembly stand to rear section of transmission housing (10) and position transmission housing vertically.

Install tapered roller bearing outer races in the rear section of transmission housing (10) using a suitable drift.

Install transmission main shaft (9)



Insert reverse gear (17) with needle roller bearing (16) into rear section of transmission housing and push in direction of arrow.

Install countershaft (19)

 Raise transmission main shaft (9) until countershaft can be installed.

Install reverse gear shaft (18)



Remove 5th/6th gear shift fork (8) with the sliding blocks (7)

 Pay attention to direction of installation of sliding blocks (7). The bend must point towards the shift fork mounting.

Install lock bolts (11)

 Start screwing in the lock bolts (11), but do not tighten.

Fit drive shaft (6) on transmission main shaft (9)

Install tapered roller bearing outer races without shims in the front section of transmission housing (1) using a suitable drift.

Fit front section of transmission housing without sealing compound onto rear section of transmission housing (10).

Install guide bolt for the shift fork mounting (3, 21) of the 5th/6th gear shift fork (8)

14

Determine thickness of shim for countershaft (19).

Determine thickness of shim for main shaft (9)

Remove guide bolt for the shift fork mounting (3, 21) of the 5th/6th gear shift fork (8)

Remove front section of transmission housing (1)

Remove tapered roller bearing outer races



Install tapered roller bearing outer races in front section of transmission housing (1) with shims of determined thickness.

 Use a suitable drift.

Attach front section of transmission housing (1) to rear section of transmission housing (10).

 Coat sealing surfaces with sealing compound.

Install guide bolt for the shift fork mounting (3, 21) of the 5th/6th gear shift fork (8)

 Install guide bolt (3) with sealing compound.
