Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove cylinder head cover trim

Detach cover for upper belt drive to the front and remove upwards

Remove poly-V belt

Disconnect coolant hoses (1, 7) from coolant pump (9)

Installation: Check condition of the coolant hoses (1, 7) and hose couplings and check seat; replace coolant hoses (1, 7) or catch springs for the hose couplings if necessary.

Disconnect coolant hose (14) from coolant pump (9)

Installation: Check coolant hose (14) and hose clamp for good condition; replace if necessary.

Remove screw/bolt (2) and guide pulley (3)

Unscrew screw/bolts (4) and remove bracket

Detach vacuum hose (6)

Detach line bracket (10) from coolant pump (9)

Installation: Attach line bracket (10) to the same position.

Remove screw/bolts (8) and remove coolant pump (9)

Pull linkage for the turbocharger bypass flap (5) downwards (arrow) for improved disassembly of the coolant pump (9).

Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and replace seal (13).

Remove screw/bolts (11) and remove coolant manifold (12)

Only when replacing coolant pump (9) or coolant manifold (12).

Installation: Replace O-ring.

Check engine cooling system for leaktightness
