Bring engine to operating temperature (approx. 80 °C )

Check the cooling system for leaks when engine is at operating temperature.

Set heating to maximum capacity

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from

swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Take off cooling system cap (1)

Replace cooling system cap (1) if corrosion present.

Check

Check coolant level in expansion reservoir (2), correct if necessary.

Attach test cap and tester (3) to the expansion reservoir (2)

Pressurize cooling system

Pressure approx. 1.4 bar.

Inspect all hoses of cooling and heating system, radiator, coolant thermostat housing, coolant pump, oil-water heat exchanger and cylinder head gasket for coolant loss . Check condition and seating of hose clamps, re-tighten or

replace if necessary.

Release pressure at tester (3), detach tester (3) and test cap
