1 | Turn off ignition | ||
Danger | Risk of fire/risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC. | No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
2 | Disconnect battery ground cable
Topical note | Notes on battery
The access for the works and repairs execution, vary according to the body type/manufacturer
3 | Remove the tensioner device of the V-belt
4 | Remove the air intake flexible pipe (3)
5 | Unscrew the oil filter cap (6.2) | When unscrewing the cap, the oil flows from oil filter housing (6) to oil sump.
Oil filter cover to filter body
6 | Remove the support (5) | Do not remove the charge air pipe (1, 2).
Support in the cooling pump
7 | Remove the combined oil pressure and temperature sensor (B110)
Only in the case of leaks or replacement of oil filter housing (6).
8 | Remove the bracket (11) | Alternator bolt in the support
Alternator support bolt in the oil filter
9 | Loosen the alternator (G2) on the bracket (12) and turn it to one side | Alternator nut in the support
10 | Remove the oil pressure piping (7) from the oil filter housing (6) | Installation: Replace sealing rings (8).
11 | Remove the oil filter cap (6.2) | Installation: Check the sealing rings (6.3) on the filter cap (6.2) and the oil filtering element (6.1) for damages and dirt. If necessary replace them.
12 | Remove the oil filter housing (6) from the crankcase | Remove the bolt (13) along with the oil filter housing (6).
Replace the gasket (10).
Oil filter housing to engine block
13 | Install in the reverse order of the steps
14 | Check the engine oil level
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Chock the vehicle against unintentional displacement. Utilize closed and close fitting work clothes. Do not touch heated-up or moving parts.
15 | Start the engine | Do not accelerate the engine while there not have oil pressure indication. The corresponding pressure gauge must indicate the oil pressure after about 10 s.
Engine oil pressure, minimum permissible
16 | Stop the engine and check for tightness | Visual check |
