Danger

Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC)

Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.

AS00.00-Z-0035-01A

Danger

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contactwith fuel.

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

AS47.00-Z-0001-01A

Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

AS49.00-Z-0001-01A

Warning

Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

AS00.00-Z-0002-01A

Caution

Risk of injury caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts

Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

Firing order

AR01.00-P-1300-03HA

To do this, turn engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation and observe firing order.

4

Inspect cylinder with light probe.

To do this, insert endoscope (2) through the spark plug bore into the cylinder to be tested.

5

Check cylinder barrel.

General information on inspecting cylinder walls

AH01.00-P-0300-01VA

If there is 'scoring' (wear to the cylinder), the cylinder barrel has become rough and honing marks are no longer visible.

If the condition of the cylinder barrel is not clearly recognizable,

Check compression pressure.

AR01.00-D-1200US

If the condition of the cylinder barrels still is not clearly recognizable,

Check for cylinder leakage.

AR01.00-D-1300US

If the condition of the cylinder barrels on a cylinder of the left cylinder bank still is not clearly recognizable,

Remove the left cylinder head.

AR01.30-D-5770US

If the condition of the cylinder barrels on a cylinder of the right cylinder bank still is not clearly recognizable,

Remove the right cylinder head.

AR01.30-D-5780US

6

Pull endoscope (2) out of the cylinder.

7

Perform check of other additional cylinders.

To do so, repeat operation steps 3 to 6.
