| Check | ||
1 | Check delivery condition of tachograph (A56). | The information regarding manufacturer, device type and serial number on the model plate must correspond to the information on the delivery note.
The lead seal of the tachograph (A56) and the lead seal of the battery compartment must be intact.
If the lead seal of the tachograph (A56) or the lead seal of the battery compartment is damaged,
| |||
order new tachograph (A56).
Send back damaged tachograph (A56).
2 | Check condition of tachograph buffer battery (A56). | The manufacturing date of the buffer battery is determined from a specification on the model plate of the tachograph (A56). The manufacturing date is coded as follows:
If the manufacturing date is older than 12 months,
| |||
Replace buffer battery.
| |||
Do not install the tachograph (A56) yet.
During removal of the buffer battery, the lead seal at the battery compartment is irreparably damaged and must be replaced.
| Remove | ||
3 | Remove stowage compartment below the control and operating unit of the climate control. | The stowage compartment is no longer required and must be handed over to the customer or disposed of properly following consultation with the customer.
4 | Remove trim in right footwell.
| |||
| Install | ||
5.1 | Connect tachograph CAN-C pre-installation connector coupling (X30/40) to engine CAN connector coupling (X30/27). | MODEL 906 except CODE XM0 (Facelift)
5.2 | Connect tachograph CAN-C pre-installation electrical connector 2 (X30/46) to engine CAN electrical connector 2 (X30/45). | MODEL 906 with CODE XM0 (Model refinement)
6 | Subsequently connect and install tachograph (A56).
7 | Install trim in right footwell.
| |||
8 | Enter special equipment into online vehicle data card. | Attach note "Digital tachograph (DTCO) retrofitted as per AN54.61-D-2000B" to DG 54 under field organization texts.
Designation of corresponding special equipment: Code JD1 (Tachograph with digital technology).
9 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system; read out fault memory.
| |||
Do not yet remove vehicle diagnosis system.
If stored fault codes are available in the fault memory.
| |||
Erase the fault memory.
10 | Carry out SCN coding on electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS).
| |||
Under the "Control unit adaptations" menu item follow the instructions for "SCN coding".
Do not yet remove vehicle diagnosis system.
11 | Carry out SCN coding on instrument cluster (IC) control unit.
| |||
Under the "Control unit adaptations" menu item follow the instructions for "SCN coding".
| Check | ||
12 | Tachograph inspection to be carried out by authorized personnel. | Observe the operator's manual included with the tachograph (A56).
Observe national legal requirements for tachograph testing. In the Federal Republic of Germany, perform the tachograph inspection as per paragraph 57b of the German Regulations Authorizing the Use of Vehicles for Road Traffic (StVZO). |
