Danger! | Risk of skin or eyes injury by hydraulic fluid high pressure jets. Risk of intoxication by hydraulic fluid ingestion | Before starting a job in a hydraulic system, relieve the pressure in the system. Use protection clothes and goggles.
| Perform the steering installation work observing maximum cleanness to avoid operation faults | For cleaning procedures, use only lint-free clean cloth or absorbent toweling. | |
Danger! | Risk of injuries by pinching and crushing when tilting the cabin | When tilting the cabin forward or backward, do not enter the tilting area and take preventive measures to prevent the approach of non-authorized people. Always tilt the cabin until its final position and lock it with the safety device.

2 | Loosen the protective boot (6) and pull it upwards
3 | Remove the steering column with the universal joint (5) and move it away from the steering gear | Check if the mark (A arrow) on the primary tree matches the universal joint groove (B arrow). If it is not possible to check it, mark where the tree and the universal joint match.
4 | Clean all valve housing (1), steering axle (2) and connections areas | Eliminate all dirt residue on the upper area of the steering axle.
5 | Remove the retaining clip (4) from the valve housing (1)
6 | Remove pressure and oil return pipes (7, 8) | Collect the oil from the steering wheel in an appropriate container. Close the oil pipes holes.
7 | Close the oil return hole (T) in the steering gear, with a steel plug (11) | Steel plug M18x1.5
8 | Fit the hand pump pipe (9) with the adapter (10) at the connector (P) and supply the pump with power steering fluid | The radial seal (3) is projected from its seat in the case by hydraulic pressure. During this operation, cover the valve housing (1) with a clean lint free cloth, as the sudden removal of the seal may cause hydraulic fluid leakage.

9 | Apply grease to the sealing lips
10 | Install the radial seal (3) with the chuck (12) at the valve housing (1) | Observe the correct installation of the radial seal. If the seal in inserted too deep, the oil return channel gets clogged in the valve housing.
| |||
11 | Install the retaining clip (4) in the valve housing (1) | Install a new retaining ring.
12 | Check the radial seal (3) tightness | With hand pump applied to connector (P), apply a 10 bar pressure to the steering gear.
13 | Remove the steel plug (11), the adapter (10), the pump pipe (9) and the hand pump
14 | Apply grease to the seal (3) and the retaining clip (4)
15 | Install the steering column with the universal joint (5) in the steering axle (2) | The mark (A arrow) in the steering axle must match the universal joint groove (B arrow). Utilize a new nut.
| |||
16 | Install oil pipes (7, 8)
17 | Bleed the steering system
Danger! | Risk of accidents by accidental movement of working engine. Risk of injuries by crushing and burn at the contact during the start-up procedure or when the engine is running | Prevent the vehicle from accidental movement. Wear working clothes that suit properly and that are not loose. Do not touch hot or moving parts.
18 | Check the radial seal (3) tightness. | Visually check with engine running.
19 | Secure the protective boot (6) using a clamp to the steering gear |
