Task

To reduce the risk of fire following an accident, the pyrofuses are deployed. Deployment of the battery terminal pyrofuse (hybrid vehicles) disconnects the battery line from the rest of the on-board electrical system. The control terminal line (circuit 30c) is interrupted by the triggering of the pyrofuse. This voltage drop at the 48 V or high voltage components is caused by shutting off the respective system.

The Supplemental Restraint System control unit directly actuates the pyrofuses.
