GF07.52-S-1010A | PEC idle speed control actuator position/task/design/function | 26.4.99 |
ENGINE 111 in MODEL 638
S07.52-3023-11
Task
Controlling idle speed at different engine loads (e.g. power steering at full lock, AC compressor engaged)
Design
1 Idle speed contact switch
M33 Idle speed control actuator
S07.52-3024-06
Function
Idle speed contact switch (1)
Provides the PEC control module with the information regarding adjusting lever (2) operated or not operated and is used for activating various idling and ignition maps.
Design
1 Idle speed contact switch
2 Adjusting lever
3 Freewheel
4 Throttle valve
5 Spring
6 Spring capsule
7 Actuator motor
8 Gear
9 Drive shaft
10 Spring
11 Throttle valve actual value potentiometer
12 Drive actual value potentiometer
13 Throttle valve shaft
Throttle valve actual value potentiometer (11)
Advises the PEC control module of the position of the throttle valve (4) (idling up to full load) in order to detect the various engine load states.
Drive actual value potentiometer (12)
Advises the PEC control module of the position of the input shaft (9) so that the input shaft (9) is moved into its defined position during the deceleration phase in order to limit the intake manifold vacuum.
Ignition "OFF"
In the deenergized state the position of the throttle valve is determined by the spring capsule (6).
Ignition "ON"
When the ignition is switched on, the actuator motor (7) is operated by the PEC control module and the throttle valve (4) adopts a position in line with the coolant temperature.
Idling
In the idling range the actuator motor (7) controls the engine speed by opening the throttle valve further (increased mixture) or closing it further (reduced mixture) in line with the coolant temperature and engine load.
Driving (part/full load)
When driving (part/full load) the position of the throttle valve is controlled by the adjusting lever (2) which is linked to the accelerator pedal by means of the throttle control linkage and throttle control cable. The actuator motor (7) has no function in the part/full load range.
