Remove all heat shields under propeller shaft (1).

Remove reinforcement (2).

Loosen screws on propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3).

Remove flex disks (4) from transmission and rear axle differential.

Drift for releasing the fitting sleeves in the flexible couplings

 Flex disks (4) remain on the propeller shaft (1).

Unscrew screws from propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3) and extend propeller shaft (1) toward the rear.

 Installation:
Screw in screws so that they are loose and only tighten after the flex disks (4) have been tightened on the transmission and rear axle differential.
Vibrations in the drive train and damage may otherwise occur.


Make sure that the halves or thirds of propeller shaft do not come apart at the slide joints.
Otherwise damage will occur.



Check

Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (3) for wear and damage.

If problems exist,



Replace propeller shaft intermediate bearing(3).

Check pilot bushings for wear and damage.

If problems exist,



Replace pilot bushings.

Check flex disks (4) for wear and damage.



Replace flexible couplings (4).

Install in the reverse order.
