Remove

Mount corresponding front wheel.

 Two wheel bolts are sufficient.

Operate parking brake.

Loosen screw (7).

Do not move vehicle with loosened screw (7).
Otherwise, the wheel bearing can get damaged.

 The vehicle must be in contact with the ground.

Loosen collar nut.

Release parking brake.

Remove corresponding front wheel.

Remove ball head of tie rod from steering knuckle.

Remove torsion bar linkage of stabilizer bar from suspension strut.

 Do not completely remove torsion bar linkage.

Remove screw (6) and remove connecting strut of front axle level sensor (B22/2) at transverse control arm (1).

If the left transverse control arm (1) is removed.

Remove screws (2, 3, 5) and remove transverse control arm (1) from integral carrier.

Remove screw (7).

Remove collar nut of front axle shaft.

Remove front axle shaft from wheel hub.

If the front axle shaft is firmly seated in the wheel hub.



Push front axle shaft out of wheel hub.

Remove the nut (4).

Remove transverse control arm (1).

Check

Check bearings of transverse control arm (1).

If wear or damage is visible.



Replace transverse control arm (1).

Check supporting joint of transverse control arm (1).

If wear or damage is visible.



Replace transverse control arm (1).

Check seal bellows of supporting joint.

If wear or damage is visible.



Replace transverse control arm (1).



Install

Install transverse control arm (1) into integral carrier and screw in screws (2, 3, 5).

 Front screw, transverse control arm to front axle carrier/integral carrier

Install front axle shaft into wheel hub.

Press transverse control arm (1) onto steering knuckle and attach nut (4).
