1 Park vehicle on a flat surface
2 Place a movable partition about 2 m in front of the vehicle.
3 Bring the vehicle to driving height.
Only on vehicles with level control.
4 Attach a plumb line in the center of the end crossmember.
W30.30-1038-01
5 Attach another plumb line in the center on the front of the vehicle.
The plumb line must align with the center of the radar sensor controller unit (A63.1).
W30.30-1039-01
6 Align both plumb lines and mark the alignment on the movable partition.
A second person behind the vehicle must indicate when the plumb lines are aligned. This alignment is marked simultaneously on the movable partition (arrow).
W30.30-1040-02
7 Plumb the marked alignment (arrow) on the movable partition with a plumb line and extend.
W54.71-1057-11
8 Mount the spacer ring (3) on the radar sensor controller unit (A63.1).
W30.30-1041-11
9 Attach a Distronic adjustment device to the radar sensor controller unit (A63.1) and fasten using the hand vacuum pump.
Distronic adjustment device
gotis://E_30_01.0
To fasten, coat the rubber sealing lip of the suction bell with vaseline and generate about 650 mbar of vacuum using the hand vacuum pump.
10 Bring the Distronic adjustment device into a horizontal position by twisting the adjusting screw (1) on the radar sensor controller unit (A63.1) and secure in this position with a cable against falling off.
11 Measure the height of the laser outlet.
The road surface is the reference.
W30.30-1042-01
12 Transfer the determined height on the movable partition horizontally.
This produces a crosshair with the vertical line marked earlier.
W30.30-1044-01
13 Adjust the radar sensor controller unit (A63.1) by turning the adjusting screws (1, 2).
The radar sensor controller unit (A63.1) is adjusted correctly if the laser point is located exactly in the crosshair on the movable partition.
1 Adjusting screw (vertical adjustment)
2 Adjusting screw (horizontal adjustment)
