Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Drain automatic transmission fluid.

For further disassembly work on the automatic transmission (1), or if the automatic transmission (1) or the torque converter is replaced.



Remove front axle shafts.

Remove holder of exhaust gas aftertreatment unit from automatic transmission (1).

 To do so, remove the bolts (6).

 Screw, exhaust gas aftertreatment unit holder to transmission

Remove transmission oil lines from automatic transmission (1).

Remove electrical wiring harness (5) all the way round at automatic transmission (1).

Lower vehicle.

Remove holder of air filter housing.

Remove ventilation box.

Release and disconnect the electrical connections (4).

 Remove electrical connectors (4) and associated electrical wiring harness from working area.

Remove starter.

Mount engine support clamp and attach engine at left.

Remove remaining screws (3) of automatic transmission (1).

Guide out automatic transmission (1) with torque converter to the left and lower.

 Installation: Align threaded holes of torque converter relative to bores in drive plate.
Custom-fit automatic transmission (1).
As soon as the automatic transmission (1) is guided by the pilot bushings, tighten automatic transmission (1) with at least 3 screws (3) evenly on the engine.

Remove torque converter.

For further disassembly work on the automatic transmission (1), or if the automatic transmission (1) or the torque converter is replaced.
