Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove the condenser.

Engine 608 in model 415
with code H06 (Air-conditioning system)
Engine 608 in model 415
with code HH9 (Air conditioner, automatic heater control)

Remove low-temperature circuit cooler.

 Installation: Do not reinstall the lower engine compartment paneling until after you have performed a leak test.

Remove coolant line (2) from fan shroud.

 Installation: Check retaining clips

Depending on the findings,



Replace damaged retaining clips.

Remove coolant line (2) at radiator (1).

 Collect escaping coolant. Seal coolant line (2).

 Record plug

Remove coolant hoses (3, 4) at radiator (1).

 Clamps engage in opened position. Clamps secured to respective coolant hose (3, 4). Collect escaping coolant. Seal coolant hoses (2, 3).

Remove the holders (5).

 To do so, remove the screw/bolts (6).

 Installation: Ensure radiator (1) is correctly seated in rubber guides of brackets (5).

Remove cooler(1).

 For this purpose, release locks (7) and remove radiator (1) from fan shroud. Aid of helper required.

 Installation: Insert radiator (1) into guides (8) and press on until locks (7) engage. Aid of helper required.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.
