Remove/install coolant thermostat

Remove/Install

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Remove throttle vale positioner together with top charge air pipe (1)

Detach coolant hose (2) at thermostat housing (3)

 Inspect condition of coolant hose and hose clamp, replace if necessary



Remove bracket (4) of charge air cooler

Model 220

 Use a screwdriver (arrow) to push coolant hose (5) slightly to the side to gain access to bolt (4a).

 Installation: Fix bracket of charge air cooler to thermostat housing with tie strap.

Remove thermostat housing (3) together with thermostat

 Installation: Replace O-ring (3a).


