Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |

3 | Remove air intake pipe (1) | ||
4 | Remove coolant pipe (2) | ||
5 | Remove coolant feed pipe (3) of the exhaust gas recirculation | ||

6 | Remove coolant thermostat housing (4) | ||
7 | Slacken bolts (5) for belt pulley (6) | Counterhold belt pulley (6). | |
8 | Slacken poly-V belt and remove | ||
9 | Remove belt pulley (6) | ||
10 | Detach coolant hoses (7, 8) at the bracket (9) | ||
11 | Remove bracket (9) from the coolant pump (10) | Only if the coolant pump (10) is replaced. | |

12 | Detach coolant hose at the coolant pump (10) | ||
13 | Remove tensioning device (11) on oil filter housing (12) | ||
14 | Remove banjo bolt (13) of the coolant line (14) | Installation: Replace sealing rings of banjo bolt (13). | |
15 | Unscrew bolts (15) for coolant pump (10) | | |
16 | Remove coolant pump (10) and remove gasket (16) | Installation: Replace seal (16). | |
17 | Clean sealing surfaces on the oil filter housing (12) and on the coolant pump (10) | ||
18 | Install in the reverse order | ||
19 | Check coolant level and correct if necessary | See service instructions. | |
20 | Inspect cooling system for leaks |
