 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Unscrew cooling system cap at coolant expansion reservoir

 Turn cooling system cap slowly and relieve overpressure, then unscrew cooling system cap.

Drain coolant at radiator

Slide drain hose onto left fitting (3) at radiator

Open drain screw (4) on radiator and drain coolant

 Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.

Turn key for about 5 s in ignition lock in position 1 and then turn key again into position 0

 Repeat procedure twice after a waiting time of approx. 30 s to empty the low-temperature water circuit.

Detach ground line(s) from battery/batteries

Detach power electronics from the cylinder crankcase

Remove/install power electronics with power distributor
Model 221.095/ 195: Before draining the coolant from the right drain screw (6).

Loosen left or right drain screw (5, 6) at the cylinder crankcase until it can be turned manually

Push drain hose (3) onto left and right drain screw (5, 6)

Continue to manually loosen left or right drain screw (5, 6) and drain coolant

 Observe regulations to dispose of coolant.

Pour in

Tighten drain screw (4) at radiator and detach drain hose from fitting (3)

After coolant has been drained at radiator

Detach drain hose (3) and tighten left and right drain screw (5, 6) on the cylinder crankcase

After coolant has been drained at cylinder crankcase

 Coolant drain plug to cylinder crankcase
