| Remove/install | ||
1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).
2 | Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter.
Installation: Do not install the upper engine cover until an engine test run has been performed.
3 | Remove front noise insulation.
4 | Remove bleed line from oil separator and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. | Record plug
5 | Remove rear noise insulation.
6 | Release and disconnect electrical connectors of ignition coils (T1/1 to T1/6).
7 | Remove screws/bolts (2). | Screw/bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover
8 | Detach ignition coils (T1/1 to T1/6) with spark plug connectors (3) upwards and remove. | Installation:
Installation: Approx. Fill 1 g of spark plug connector grease into the spark plug connectors (3).

| Check | ||
9 | Check O-rings of bleed line for damage. | If damage is present:
| |||
Replace bleed line. | |||
10 | Check ignition coils (T1/1 to T1/6) for external damage. | If damage is present:
| |||
Replace corresponding ignition coil (T1/1 to T1/6).
11 | Install in the reverse order.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
12 | Perform an engine test run and check the engine for proper function.
13 | Install upper engine cover. |
