Remove upper engine cover

Remove cover above ATLs

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Detach vacuum line (1) on vacuum pump

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Unclip ME-SFI [ME] control unit and place to one side with connected lines

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Unclip vent line (2) and place to one side

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Remove screw/bolts (19) from engine wiring harness (4)

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Detach engine wiring harness (4) from strut (6)

Disconnect electrical connection (3) and place engine wiring harness (4) to one side

When removing the ignition coils (30, 31).

Remove screw/bolts (5) and take out strut (6)

Unclip wiring harness (8) at sidewall (9)

Detach vacuum line (10) on brake booster and remove upwards

Unscrew nut (12), lift sidewall (9) and remove rubber grommet (13)

Take out sidewall (9) in an upward direction

Relieve fuel pressure over diagnostic socket

Unclip engine wiring harness (4) at fuel line (14)

Detach bracket of the fuel line (14) at cylinder head cover

 Installation: Replace seal.

Disconnect electrical connection (17)

Unclip vacuum line and engine wiring harness (4) from vent line (22)

When removing the ignition coils (32, 33).

Disconnect electrical connection (18) and place engine wiring harness (4) to one side

When removing the ignition coils (32, 33).

Raise soundproofing on left rail somewhat

When removing the ignition coils (32, 33).

Remove screw/bolt (20) and raise engine wiring harness (4) somewhat

When removing the ignition coils (32, 33).

Remove screw/bolts (21) and take out vent line (22)

When removing the ignition coils (32, 33).

Disconnect electrical connections (23, 24, 25)

For removal of the ignition coils (31, 32, 33).

Remove the respective screw/bolts (26, 27, 28, 29) and remove respective ignition coil (30, 31, 32, 33) upwards

 Installation:
To reduce the force required for plugging/unplugging the spark plug connector grease must be applied before installation of the spark plug connector.
The spark plug connectors will get damaged otherwise when they are removed again.

 Installation: Apply about 1 g of spark plug connector grease in the spark plug connector.
