Risk of injury caused by being caught or pinched as cab is tilted

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Remove resonance tank of compressor

Remove intake manifold (3) of turbocharger (1)

Engine 541.920 - 927 with air intake above cab.

 Do not detach connecting piece with integral compensating ring (up to engine end no. 010599) at turbocharger.



Detach intake hose

Engine 541.920 - 927 with plate-type air filter

Up to engine end no. 010599, take off compensating ring.
 Installation: the compensating ring must abut the turbocharger flange.

Inspecting intake manifold, intake hose and turbocharger compressor housing for oil deposits



Information on assessing turbocharger if engine produces blue exhaust

If oil deposits are present, replace turbocharger:

Inspect ease of operation of the turbocharger rotor shaft (1.1)

 If the turbocharger rotor shaft is stiff, replace turbocharger:

 If one turbocharger is faulty, it is not necessary to also replace the second turbocharger.

 If one of the specified values is exceeded, the turbocharger must be replaced:
