1.1 Unscrew cable shaft (8) on valve cover.
Only for engines 611, 612, 613, 646, 647, 648.
2.1 Unscrew engine ventilation (9).
Only if injector 1. or 2nd cylinder is removed on engines 611, 612, 613, 646, 647, 648.
3.1 Unscrew oil filler cap (10).
Only if injector 3. or 4th cylinder is removed on engines 611, 612, 613, 646, 647, 648.
Shown on engine 611
4 Remove solenoid valve on injector.
5 Remove anchor plate in injector.
6 Remove anchor spring in injector.
P07.16-2810-02
7 Unscrew valve tensioning nut in injector with hollow bored Allen wrench (11).
The hollow bored Allen wrench (11) is contained in the package contents of the extraction tools kit.
8 Remove anchor pins with anchor plate in injector.
P07.16-2789-04
9 Unscrew threaded insert (3) on relevant injector up to the stop.
Shown on engine 668
3 Threaded insert

10 Mount support on adapter plate (4).
One must be clear about which injector is to be removed. The lift support point for the first and second cylinder (1) or the lift support point for the third and fourth cylinder (2) must be taken depending on the injector.
Shown on engine 668
1 Lift support points for first and second cylinder
2 Lift support points for third and fourth cylinder

4 Adapter plate (contained in the extraction tools kit)
7 Lift support points for third to sixth cylinder

11 Place adapter plate (4) on the bolts on the valve cover.
Correct seating of the supports on the bolts on the valve cover must be achieved in order to avoid damage to the valve cover or tool.
Ensure that support on the exhaust manifold (5) is positioned correctly.

12 Screw hollow piston cylinder with knurled nut (6) onto threaded insert (3).
13 Pull out injector by means of generated excess pressure.
Release excess pressure if the injector can no longer be pulled out, screw knurled nut (6) further in threaded insert (3) and build up excess pressure again. Repeat until the knurled nut (6) can no longer be screwed into the threaded insert (3).
14 Release pressure.
15 Unscrew knurled nut (6) from threaded insert (3).
16 Remove hollow piston cylinder.
17 Remove adapter plate (4).
18 Unscrew threaded insert (3) from injector.
19.1 Check valve cover and cylinder head on support points for extraction tool for plastic deformation.
Only perform if the injector was removed with an excess pressure of greater than 350 bar.
If plastic deformations are detected on the valve cover or cylinder head then always unscrew the valve cover in order to check for damage.
