Remove/install

Risk of explosion from fuel igniting. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by fuel spraying out at high pressure

Keep all ignition sources out of hazard area.

Do not carry out any work on systems when they are under pressure

Remove injection lines

Disconnect electrical connector to rail pressure sensor (B4/6)

Disconnect electrical connector at pressure regulator valve (Y74/1)

Remove engine wiring harness from rails (21) on left and right

 Installation: Install new cable ties.

Disconnect return line (2)

 Installation: Install new clamp

Unscrew union nut (3) from pressure line (22)

 Counterhold connection fittings on pressure line (22).



Remove pressure line (22) from rails (21)

 Close pressure line connections (22) immediately after removal to protect against contamination. Do not damage pressure line (22).

 Set of stop plugs

Unscrew union nuts (3) from connecting line (23)

 Close pressure connecting line (23) immediately after removal to protect against contamination. Do not damage the connecting line (23).



Unscrew bolts (1) and remove bracket from soundproofing

 On right-hand side only.



Remove rails (21)

Installation: Finger-tighten union nuts (3) on connecting line (23) and pressure line (22) and then tighten bolts (1).



Checking

Check sealing cone on pressure line (22) and connection line (23).

 Installation: Replace pressure (22) or connecting line (23) if damaged.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
