Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Remove paneling of condenser unit

Park vehicle in shade with windows open, and rotate heater temperature selection switch to "Cold"

Start engine and allow to idle

Switch on roof air conditioning and set roof air conditioning temperature control to maximum cooling output

When the roof air conditioning is switched on, a slight change in engine speed must be discernible.

Set blower switch for roof air conditioning to position II

Check refrigerant level

Inspect the air conditioning circuit for leaks

Only if bubbles can be seen in inspection glass of roof air conditioning.

Set blower switch for roof air conditioning to position I

Also check temperature at middle air outlet opening

After approx. 5 min. the temperature of the air flowing in has to be 7 to 10 °C below the temperature of the air suctioned in.

If the correct air outlet temperature is not reached:

Check high-pressure switch of roof air conditioning

As a separate repair order.

Check that temperature control and low-pressure switch are functioning correctly

As a separate repair order.
