 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.

Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.

Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground lead from battery



Open front flap (1)

Remove ornamental grill (2)

Remove air shroud (3).

Remove cover for cab/chassis connector plate (4)

 Installation: The cover on the cab/chassis plug plate should be closed tightly

Remove connector X4.18 from FR/FMR control module (A3)

Disconnect wire (red) for terminal 30 (5) and detach connectors (X2.1, X2.2) from cab chassis plug plate (6)

 Installation: The connector (X2.2) must be tied to the engine wiring harness in vehicles without air conditioning system.

Unclip engine wiring harness and lay down

 Danger!

Risk of injury from hand being jammed and bruised when tilting cab

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab during tilting. Always tilt cab to end position and secure with safety prop.

Remove sound-proofing capsule from engine on right and rear.
