24h service / 24h emergency service
Diagnosis work on vehicles with high-voltage technology (MODEL 221.095/195) in the course of on-site service work may only be performed by qualified staff. The minimum required qualification is documented attendance of a high-voltage training and awareness course.
Starting assistance or other work not connected with the high-voltage system (e.g. tire replacement) may also be performed on-site with documented attendance of a high-voltage training and awareness course.
If diagnosis or other work on the high-voltage system is necessary, the vehicle must be towed into a workshop. When in the receiving workshop, the vehicle may only be worked on by an electrical specialist for high-voltage systems in motor vehicles (series production vehicles).
Workshop operations on the high-voltage system
Before work on the high-voltage system is performed, de-energization of the vehicle must be performed and documented as described in AR54.10-P-1150SXH. The qualification required for this is electrical specialist for high-voltage systems in motor vehicles (series production vehicles).
If de-energization of the high-voltage system following shutdown cannot be clearly identified and documented in the workshop using Star Diagnosis, or the high-voltage battery is classified as unsafe to transport according to OF54.10-P-3000-01Z on account of mechanical damage, no further work is permitted to be performed on the high-voltage system. The relevant workshop support department must be contacted in order to arrange how to proceed.
Notes on replacement of high-voltage batteries
If it is necessary to replace the high-voltage battery, the analysis sheet for the transportability of high-voltage batteries OF54.10-P-3000-01Z must be completed and enclosed with the removed part together with the quick test printout, the printout of the BMS control unit log and the repair documentation.
To handle high-voltage batteries safely in the workshop, proceed as per document AH54.10-P-0001-01A.
Danger | Risk of death when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) | Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines. | |
