Wheel bolt conversion
Because of complaints about corrosion, partially caused by the use of non-recommended car care products (containing acid), the wheel bolts in current series production vehicles will gradually be changed as of the end of June.
The wheel bolts are the full-head type (except for steel wheel bolts) and will have better surface protection.
Some versions of the new wheel bolt are available as spare parts.
The assignment to the respective wheel rim model can be found in the EPC.

For logistical reasons, the previous bolts will only be continued until existing stocks have been used up.
For this reason, please only order these wheel bolts for individual sales (e. g. loss of one wheel bolt).
We basically recommend only using one type of wheel bolt per wheel.
Because of the modified surface coating, the preload force at the same tightening torque is somewhat greater.
Using different wheel bolts means that distortion of the wheel / brake disk / hub unit cannot be completely avoided, depending on the type of wheel rim.
