Remove heater from the housing

Unlock locking lugs (13) of cover (1)

Lift up cover (1) and remove from casing housing (5) of the heater

Detach exhaust gas line, combustion air line, flange plate and flange gasket from heater unit

Only AIRTRONIC heater D2.

Installation: Check condition of flange gasket (6) and replace if necessary.

Remove auxiliary heater control unit (12)

Remove combination sensor for overheating/flame (3)

Only when replacing heat exchanger.

Installation: Transfer combination sensor from old to new heat exchanger.

Take heater out of casing housing

Detach combustion air blower and hot air blower (11) from heat exchanger (4)

Installation: Note the tightening sequence (A-D) for the screws.

Remove gasket (10)

Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Install new gasket (10).

Detach combustor (9) from heat exchanger (4) and pull out

AIRTRONIC heater D2 = 3 screws

AIRTRONIC heater D4 = 4 screws

Installation: Insert rubber grommet (7) for fuel feed laterally into the heat exchanger.

Remove gasket (8)

Installation: Clean sealing surfaces. Replace seal (8).

Install in the reverse order
